A loan helped to buy and transport 25 goats.

Chiraidzo's story

Chiraidzo travels twice a month from Harare to Mount Darwin, where she buys goats and then transports them to Harare where she will then sell them to abattoirs. She started her business in January 2015, two years after the death of her husband.

Chiraidzo is a widowed mother of three school children who all live in their three-roomed cottage. She is very passionate about her business and she said she now enjoys working with goats every day of her life. This business is her only source of income and she is using her profits to pay school fees for her children and also to meet other household expenses. She claimed that her business has less competition and, as a result, she is making profits.

She joined Thrive in December, 2016, and received business advice. She received a loan of US $500 which she wants to use to buy and transport 25 goats. She is very confident that the loan will help her to increase her profits and improve her living conditions
