A loan of $8,000 helped purchase the tools that allow me to service my customers more quickly, cleanly and efficiently.

Aaron's story

I grew up in a little town called Belleville in the state of Michigan. It was a very rural area and my days were spent climbing trees and playing in tall grass. While my father didn't have a traditional farm, he owned a few animals and always had me and my brothers help him with various projects both outside and in. As such, I always had an impulse to work with my hands. After college I joined the work force but found I disliked it plus it couldn't support my family. I tried to get my company off the ground then with a focus on web design but found I had no passion for the work. When I moved to Detroit, I had to work on my own home which brought back my love for this type of work. Shortly after I found a contractor to apprentice under and here I am today with my own wood flooring company. I enjoy what I do and it enables me to support my family. I was able to buy and repair my home, put food on the table for my wife and our four children, and support her in continuing her education. She hopes to be a real estate investor and is already working on purchasing her first piece of real estate.

My goals are to help her succeed in her business, earn money to support my childrens' future development (three of the four were diagnosed with autism), and grow my business large enough to make these dreams a reality.
