NEKHE DERETE is a group of women who live near the village of Sandiara, located 25 km from the city of Mbour. They are active in agriculture, small-scale commerce, and the fattening of livestock. With the beginning of the off-season, the group members are requesting a loan to finance their different income-generating activities, which are their only sources of revenues during this period. These revenues enable them to feed their families as they wait for harvest time.

NEKHE DERETE est un groupe de femmes habitant prés du village sandiara localité située à 25 km de la ville Mbour .Elles s’activent dans l’agriculture, le petit commerce et l’embouche. Avec le début de l’hivernage elles sollicitent un prêt pour financer leurs différentes activités génératrices de revenus leur unique source de revenu pendant cette période. Les revenus tirés de cette activité leur permettent de nourrir leurs familles en attendant les récoltes.

This loan is administered by UIMCEC, a Kiva Field Partner in Senegal since 2008. UIMCEC is a government-regulated microfinance institution whose mission is to improve the revenue and well-being of families through access to financial services, allowing principally women and young adult micro-entrepreneurs living in rural and semi-rural areas to develop their revenue-generating businesses and supporting them in becoming financially self-sufficient.
