Elisabeth is a 50 year old widow with 3 children. Two of whom are still under her protection. To make a living Elisabeth runs a business of selling kind of cakes such as fried bread, fried bananas, donuts, and steamed buns.
She has been involved the business since 5 years ago. She is struggling for her children since the death of her husband. She usually spends IDR 250,000 every week to buy the basic ingredients. In addition, she has 5 cattle to be raised. She prepares the cattle to be sold for the children education needs.

Along with 5 women, Elisabeth joined the Mawar Silawan and has requested a loan totaling of IDR 12,000,000 from TLM, the Kiva field partner. She wants to sell the cakes in the larger quantity and it needs more money to buy more ingredients such as cake flour, sugar, butter, bananas, cooking oil. She is optimistic the loan will allow her to improve the business.
