A loan of $1,400 helped to buy cocoa to resell to supplement his own cocoa harvest.

Francis's story

Francis is a 54-year-old married, gentle man with eight children who lives in Bundibujo, Uganda. For the last 21 years, he has been a cocoa farmer, while trading in cocoa at the same time.

He is responsible for paying school fees for all his children and sustaining his home. His personal dream is to construct a good house for his family, and his business dream is to acquire more finances to expand trading in cocoa.

He is challenged by price fluctuation and the heavy rains that affect the drying of cocoa. The purpose of the loan is to buy more cocoa to sell to supplement his own harvest, so as to get more income.
