Las Tulipanes Group's story

The Las Tulipanes (The Tulips) Communal Bank is represented by Señora Maria Rosario and consists of twelve members who are beginning their third loan cycle during which they have demonstrated a desire for honest work and have been responsible in making their payments. All of the members have their own businesses, such as cosmetics catalog sales, selling meals, hairdressing, selling jewelry or bread, or selling groceries from neighborhood stores. Their competence in the field of business is high but the group members know how to get ahead thanks to their experience and their desire to work. The purpose of the loan is for the acquisition of materials, consumables and tools which will help them to generate greater earnings since that is what provides the means of supporting their families and improving their quality of life. As this is their third loan cycle together, the members have experience in solidarity groups so that Fundación Agrocapital is able to grant economic support, while the group is demonstrating unity and solidarity among themselves.
