A loan of $500 helped to increase her merchandise.

Kelly's story

Kelly is a 33-year old woman who fights alone to support her 3 children, as she plays the role of both mother and father to them. Thanks to her work, she managed to buy a plot of land where she built her own house. She has realized the activity of selling baby clothing for more than 8 years, having the opportunity to sell her merchandise from friends’ stalls in the market. For this, she pays them a percentage of her earnings and she generates income from various locations at the market. She visits each post very early in the morning to deliver her products, and later collects her profits. Additionally, she sells her wares on weekends at the different markets in her area walking from 9 am until 6 pm. However, this sacrifice has its reward in the income she earns with her sales. Kelly’s wish for the future is to have a set site where she can sell her clothes more easily and comfortably. This is the 13th credit with Microfinanzas PRISMA and what she most appreciates about her cooperative bank is the teamwork she has with the other members. Buying clothes during these months is very beneficial given that it’s winter, therefore the demand for warm clothing goes up and the 1,500 soles she requests will help her buy more merchandise.
