Vilma's story

Vilma is 32 years old. She lives in her mother-in-law’s house with her husband Juan, 29 years old and an electrician, and their two sons: Luis Enrique – 13, and Angelo – 5 months.

Since she was a teenager, Vilma has always worked hard. She started by helping with her mother’s business. She sold lingerie prior to meeting her husband and starting a family. At the moment, she sells shoes and slippers which are in high demand. She greatly enjoys her work because it gives her a sense of independence and accomplishment. In the future, Vilma wants to travel to nearby provinces around the city of Lima to sell her products. She believes there is more demand in those areas and opportunity for larger profits. Vilma is happy to work and help her husband with the household expenses, especially now that her little Angelo has many more needs and she is concerned about his future.

This is her first loan with MFP and she promises to make her payments on time. The money she received will be used to purchase more slippers. Vilma is very excited about her business and hopes it will result in good returns.
