Cervandicia's story

Cervandicia is 58. She lives with her children; Omar, 20; and Katy, 27. Her older children; Simeón, 38; and Joel, 33; are independent.

She has been making handicrafts for four years. She learned how to do this by going to a training shop. From the first moment, she liked the work. She is very happy with the scheduling freedom that she has and the enjoyment she gets from doing the work.

She is currently working on an order for party clothes for the Gamarra business center, which is one of the most well known centers in the city of Lima. Her primary job is decorating the clothes with beads. The good part is the Cervandicia do not work alone. She has six people who help her embroider; she could not finish the large quantity of clothes by herself. This work requires good eyesight and patience to be able to put each bead on the needle and give it a pretty finish. Each outfit takes an hour, and it takes almost all day to complete a good quantity. Cervandicia will continue to work hard to expand her business and have a larger shop.

This is her third loan with Microfinanzas Prisma. She has always been very punctual with all of her payments, and she has not had problems paying on time. She will use the money she is asking for to buy fabric and a larger quantity of beads and threads etc. Every time their price increases, and it is better to buy them wholesale.
