A loan helped a member to buy "pagnes" [bright West African cloth] to sell.

Zounogo Group's story

The Zounogo group has completed their first Kiva loan. Payments were made regularly. Bibata, the group representative, thanks all the staff and lenders at Kiva for their support. Bibata was able to use the loan to buy pagnes [bright West African cloth] and clothing to sell. The profit she made allowed her to buy clothing for her children, cover family expenditures, and, especially, build her business. Babata needs another loan to continue her business selling pagnes. She wants to buy in bulk to stock up and sell later. The profits from these sales will allow her to save up and acquire a boutique for herself, as she is currently a street vendor.
