A loan helped to buy for a large Size Esky, ice blocks, a weighing scale, and calculators for her fish selling business.

Joyce's story

Joyce is 51 years old and married with six children. She lives in a rural community outside of Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

Joyce runs and operates a fish selling business, selling frozen and fresh fish in her community and the market to earn a living. She has been doing this for three years.

With her previous loans, she was able to start up her business and meet her family's weekly expenses. Joyce's business is successfully running, and she is making an income due to the high demand of her customers.

Joyce is now requesting for a new loan to buy for one large size Esky, ice blocks, a weighing scale, calculators and transportation expenses to help assist her business. She plans to use her profits to buy a small fishing boat for her business and also to meet her children's school fees.

She joined SPBD in 2015 to gain access to financial services.
