A loan of $1,150 helped purchase fertilizer.

Julia's story

Julia is a very hardworking woman. She is 50 years old, married, and the mother of 3 sons. The family lives in their own home. She begins work on her farm at 4am, but sometimes she starts her shift at 2am because that is the best time to irrigate the fields.

Working with husband, Julia sells potatoes, peas and flowers. On market days, she wakes up at 3am so that she can get to the city of Tarma by 4am. Timing is the key to good sales. By 9am, she has returned home satisfied and happy with the day’s earnings. In the future, she would like to save enough money to buy more farmland and live to a peaceful old age.

Julia is a very responsible client. In her previous 9 loans, she demonstrated punctuality with each payment and she promises to do the same with her current loan. During her monthly communal bank meetings, she is very attentive and gets along well with the other group members. She will use the money to buy chemical fertilizers to improve her land for a good harvest.
