Seik Gyi -1 (C) Village Group's story

This group is located in Seik Gyi Village, in the Delta region of Myanmar. This village has over 186 households and 400 villagers. Most of the villagers are farmers planting rice paddy and seasonal vegetables. For additional income, some households raise livestock, including pigs and chickens. In this group, there are five village customers, including the featured borrower, who will oversee the loan program in this region. Pictured above are loan clients named Zin, Aung, Min, Cho and Win. This loan will help some group members purchase ducks as well as high-quality feed.

Included in the picture, Zin (second from the left) is a single man who lives with his family. He farms his seven-acre rice fields. He also plants flowers and sells them in the town market. Zin’s family will use Proximity's loan to purchase fifty ducks. More ducks will increase his income by providing more duck eggs.
