A loan of $100 helped to purchase merchandise and increase her inventory.

Guida's story

Señora Guida belongs to the “Las Conquistadoras de Morales” community bank in the Distrito de Morales, Provincia San Martín, Departamento de San Martín. She lives with her partner, is 37 years old, and has two children, both of whom she supports. She has many years of experience selling groceries. Guida started her business with 200.00 in capital, selling Juanes on the edge of the river. She went through ups and downs to become a small business owner and to turn a profit without anyone's help. Through hard work and dedication, she was able to build her business and open her storefront. She is well known by her clients in the neighborhood where she lives and her daily sales are good. Currently she runs her business out of her house. She will use the loan for S/. 300.00 to purchase more merchandise such as rice, sacks of sugar, cleaning supplies, soft drinks, and various products to keep her customers happy. She is a very ambitious woman who wants to get ahead so that she can support her family. Guida would like to thank Manuela Ramos, a nonprofit microfinance organization, for allowing her to grow as a business woman and as a woman.
