Rochelle's story

Rochelle V., 25, lives with her nine-month-old baby and her husband in a small house in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. Her husband works as a waiter in a nearby restaurant.

A young entrepreneur and mother, Rochelle scours night markets, bargain centers and bazzars to purchase her wares, from RTW (ready to wear dresses) to cosmetic items, which she then sells to her customers at a fairly low price. She earns a weekly average of Php 1,500.00 on cosmetics alone, aside from other products she sells.

Rochelle dreams of having her own boutique where she can sell her items so she won’t need to leave her child in the care of relatives every time she leaves to tend to her business.
