A loan of $275 helped to buy beauty products, flour, peanuts, and potable water.

Odette's story

A. Odette is married and the mother of four children. Three of them are, respectively, 12, 8, and 5 years old, and they go to school. The fourth one, who is 10 months old, remains at home. Odette's husband is a security agent, and she lives with her family in Cotonou, the largest city and the economic capital of Benin.

In Cotonou, Odette sells various goods, including flour, peanuts, potable water, and beauty products, such as nail polish. She sells these things at her house and on the side of the road. She started this business five years ago. She is seeking a loan with ALIDé to increase her business and to buy more of the goods she sells. In the future, Odette would like to open a shop in which she can sell merchandise.
