A loan of $650 helped to buy various items for his shop.

Dramane's story

Mr. Dramane Dembélé, age 34, is the father of four. He lives with this wife and children in the Faraba district of Bougouni City (third administrative region of the Republic of Mali). Not having gone to school, he got interested at an early age in income-generating work. For ten years, he used to work daily with merchants, especially in merchandise transport by cart at the marketplace and in the different district of Bougouni, though he was unsuccessful. So he decided to learn from his uncle how to sell various shop goods. For four years now, he has been working at this business and is in high demand. To bolster his business, he decided to collaborate with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso. He is now on his first individual loan, which he intends to use to buy various goods for his shop. He stocks up in Bamako (capital of Mali). His customers are composed of local people. With this loan, he plans to realize a monthly profit of 40,000 francs CFA that he envisions using to expand his shop.
