Anica's story

Anica M. was born in the city of Pemba, in a northern province that borders Tanzania. She is 32 years old, married, and has 4 children between the ages of 10 and 23. She lives with her husband in their own house and finished high school.

She left Pemba for Maputo in 1986 with her eldest daughter, and lived there two years. She went to another province north of Maputo (Inhambane), and then returned to Boane in 1990 with her husband.

She has worked as a secretary in Boane's Instituto Pedagógico de Umbelauzi for more than 18 years and earns 4600 meticals, which help her support her family and pay off her loans.

Anica has never received loans from other banks, and this is her fourth loan, in the amount of 25,000 meticals, which she will use to purchase construction materials for her house. She learned about Hluvuku-Adsema through friends and colleagues.

Her previous loans were for 17,000, 20,000, and 40,000 meticals and were also used to buy contrsutction materials.

She intends to pay off this loan in full and on time so that she can apply for further loans and finish building her house.
