A loan of $800 helped buy bags of rice, sugar, flour, oil and milk.

Anita's story

Anita is a member of the Communal Bank group called “Las Ampolas” (The Poppies). She is 52 years old, married, and the mother of three sons – a set of twins who are 22 years old, and a 16 year old who is studying at a state school.

Anita is from Cajamarca. She came to Lima to study nursing, but she went to work when she got married because her husband could not find a job. At that time, she opened a store from her home and began selling beer and sodas. Little by little she grew her business. Since then, Anita became a FINCA client. She began saving money and excelling in her business.

Anita needs a loan of 2400 soles to restock her store and buy bags of rice, sugar, flour, oil and milk. She dreams of expanding her grocery business and opening a bakery.
