A loan helped purchase manure for her organic coffee plantation, a coffee processing module, and a solar coffee dryer.

Estanislao Celedonio's story

Estanislao lives in the town of Frontera San Francisco, a small community of coffee growers in the outskirts of the district of San Jose de Lourdes, Peru. Estanislao is 56, lives with his wife and three children and supports himself with his coffee plantation providing high quality, good tasting coffee to the local co-op. One of his limitations is the lack of availability of vehicles to transport coffee. That's why his dream is to buy a pick-up truck within the next several years. Applying manure to his plantations will lead to higher production and make his dream more likely to come true.

A loan to Estanislao will provide him with the opportunity to improve his business, increase his production through using manure and assure the quality of his coffee with the construction of a processing and drying area. This would enable him to dry his coffee and obtain quality coffee. With a solar dryer he'll be more efficient with quality control, which is what his co-op demands.
