A loan helped to purchase fertilizer to be used on his organic coffee farm, and to construct his module for raising pigs.

Luciano's story

Luciano lives in the hamlet of Santo Tomás, a small community of coffee-growers on the outskirts of the district of San José de Lourdes, Peru. Luciano, 51 years old, lives with his wife and one grandchild, and supports himself from his own parcel of 3 hectares of coffee, selling his quality coffee to a local cooperative.

Since he was a child, his parents taught him agricultural work but also stockbreeding and it is because of this that he makes a living from traditional cattle-breeding. He dreams of increasing his coffee area and having more cattle that will allow him to improve his family’s living conditions.

One loan to Luciano will give him the opportunity to improve his business by increasing his production with the fertilizer and with the construction of his pig-rearing module, and to generate new incomes, allowing him to be better-prepared when faced by a crisis.
