A loan helped to cultivate potatoes.

Alex Javier's story

Alex is a 22-year-old, single man with a son who he has taken responsibility for. He works in agriculture, specifically farming potatoes, which supplies him with the income to provide for his own needs and those of his son.

He requests the support of the loan in order to purchase fungicides for his crop, so that he can keep it healthy until the harvest. A good harvest will leave him with money left over for a new planting, permitting him to succeed.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Aleks Clark.

This loan is special because:

It aims to reach vulnerable refugee populations in an isolated region.
