Hidup Baru Usapinonot Group's story

Elizabeth is a 57-year-old widow and mother of 3 children. She is one of 5 members who joined in Jembatan group, to request a loan for their businesses.

Since her husband died 10 years ago, Elizabeth has had to work hard to fulfill her family’s needs, especially in financing her daughter who is still in school, at least until she graduates and gets a job for herself. To do all of this, she has to work several jobs such as weaving, selling butternut and also selling cakes.

To run the cake business and produce cakes like fried bananas, fried bread and others, she has to invest capital for some basic ingredients such as sugar, butter, wheat, cooking oil, etc. In one day, she can reach a profit up to IDR 50.00-60.000. To earn more income, she also weaves in her spare time producing some shawls and then selling them in the market.

In order to furthermore increase her income, she plans to purchase more stock of wheat, sugar and cooking oil to produce more cakes than before. To be able to do this, she finally joined with her 6 friends who also need a loan for their businesses to apply for a loan totaling to IDR 1.750.000 per woman in TLM.
