Isabel Virginia's story

Isabel Virginia S. C. is 23 years old and lives in the El Porvenir district in the Trujillo province of La Libertad, Perú.

She completed her secondary school education and has 5 children who depend on her financially.

Isabel dedicates herself to selling breakfasts, a business that she already had when she started with Manuela Ramos. In her spare time, she makes necklaces and earrings that she offers to her friends. At seeing that people liked her designs, she started making them in larger quantities to sell not only to her neighbors but also to stores in her district.

She obtains the materials for her jewelry-making from the supply stores at the market in Porvenir.

With the loan of 300 soles that she received from her cooperative bank, Live with Hope, she invested in the purchase of materials for making earrings.

With the loan of 800 soles, she will invest further into her jewelry business and in medications.

Isabel’s dream is to open a restaurant in her home.
