Sanggye's story

Sanggye has practiced sewing and tailoring of traditional Tibetan clothing for over 7 years. She crafts handmade chupa and accessories for local Tibetan people, for surrounding communities, and for incoming tourists. As demand for her products grows, Sanggye hopes to move into a new workshop and increase her production so that she can create a real business.

A loan of $8,000 will allow Sanggye to invest in a new workshop space and train 3 new tailors. Training new artisan employees will allow Sanggye to increase local incomes, and preserve her traditional Tibetan tailoring techniques for the next generation.
