Dezilanta's Group
In this Group: Dezilanta, Margaret, Mugera, Harriet, Teopista, Deborah, Deborah, Rose, Florence, Winnie, Margaret, Wilson, Christine, Immaculate
N. Dezilanta is the leader of Kiwamirembe Group in Kigombya. She is married with three children, and has a business selling maize and chicken mash to the poultry farmers in her locality. She is also a poultry farmer herself, with 300 egg-laying chicks and a few broilers at home for meat. Dezilanta is one of the founding members of her group, which she started up after becoming a farmer.

Dezilanta is grateful for the loans from Kiva partner, Pearl Microfinance, because without them, her life and that of her family would not be as it is today. She is asking for a loan through Pearl Microfinance to buy and stock more maize brand, shells and mash for sale.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
