A loan of $1,000 helped to expand her grocery store.

Chhuon's story

Chhuon T., 51, is married and lives with two of her children in the Kampong Cham province. She sells cakes and grocery items in front of a garment factory, making $2 US each day. Her husband does some farming and works as a security guard, making about $2 US each day as well. This couple is also supported by two of their children who are security guards.

The weather conditions have been difficult for farming in Cambodia this past year and inflation has also been out of control. These factors have played into a difficult economic year for many Cambodians. In light of these difficult times, Chhuon T. is asking for a loan of $1000 US to expand her grocery store. She sees this as a good economic investment and will use it to increase her income and improve her standard of living.
