A loan helped to purchase sand, cement, bricks and equipment to build a new toilet.


Yên's story

Yên is 53 years old and she is married with three children. She is an ethnic minority living in Thach Thanh district, a mountainous region of Thanh Hoa province.

She has worked in agriculture raising poultry for more than 10 years. Her family is a low-income household in the village. In addition, her job is unstable.

One of the most critical difficulties that concerns her is not having a clean toilet to use. But she doesn't have enough income to get a new one. She is requesting a loan to purchase sand, cement, bricks and equipment to build a new toilet.

This is Yên's first loan with Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution.

With her business profits, Yên hopes for her family to be healthy and happy, to make enough money to provide for her kids and keep sending them to school.
