Mary's story

Mary A. is fifty-five years old. She is divorced and has given birth to one child, a son, who is currently in the polytechnic. She lives with her son in a rented apartment in a commercial town, called Dwenase, in the Western Region of Ghana. She is a trader. She trades in utensils. She buys her goods (sets of utensils) from Kumasi, at affordable prices, and sells at the market square in her community. Mary also deals in textiles. She hawks and treks to other markets to sell as well. Mary has been in business for over twenty years and wants a loan to buy goods in bulk. She aspires to expand her business and to give her son all the necessary support.
