A loan of $4,675 helped a member to buy more salon equipment.

Tupendane B Group's story

Aziza L., age 38, is married. Her two children are aged 17 and 20 years. She has a salon business, which she started 4 years ago. She works daily from 8am until 8pm. She is able to earn a monthly profit of around $154.

This will be Aziza’s seventh loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to open the salon business. She used to sell clothes and has repaid the loans successfully. She hopes for a seventh loan to help to expand both businesses.

Aziza will share this loan with her loan group, Tupendane B, which totals 16 members. The members of the group hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Aziza is in the middle, front row, in a black sleeveless blouse.
