Augustina's story

Augustina B. is thirty-eight years old. She is married and has four children, two sons and two daughters. Some are in the senior high while others are in the junior high and the primary schools. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a commercial town called Dwenase in the Western Region of Ghana. Augustina’s husband is a commercial driver while she is a trader. She trades in ceramic wares.

Augustina makes ceramic wares such as cups, bowls, earthen wares, etc. herself. She has hired hands that work for her. She fires the wares in a kiln after production. She hawks and treks to other markets to sell as well. She has been in business for four years and wants a loan to buy clay and firewood. She aspires to expand her business and give her children a good education.
