Munuka Group's story

Rukia R., 33, is married with two children ages, 13 and 1. She has a salon business at a place called Mazambalauni, some few kilometers from the city centre. She started this business about 10 years ago. She works from 8am to 7pm daily. She is able to earn a monthly profit of around $191.

This will be Rukia’s 7th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to increase on the business, bought a fridge for keeping juice for selling at a nearby school and paid college fees for her your sister and has paid back her loan successfully. She wants to use the new loan to increase on capital and to save half in the bank..

Rukia will share this loan with her group Munuka, which totals 16 members; The members hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Rukia is 1st on the right.
