Mrs. Hilaria G. is single and lives in her own home with her two daughters, one of whom works in Spain. This daughter also helps support the family.
Mrs. G. has a business in one of the busiest markets in downtown Asunción, and has applied for a loan to buy more items to sell -- fruits, vegetables sweets and medicine. She also sells traditional teas which are grown locally, honey and cheese. Mrs.G. starts work in the early hours of the morning (at around 4:00 a.m.), when she goes out to buy the items she needs to run her business. One of her biggest goals is to be able to expand her business and open a store in which she can offer a more comfortable and enjoyable environment for her clients.
