Las Forjadoras De Palca Group's story

The communal bank “Forjadores D. Palca" is in Palca in the department of Huancavelica. Hills, rivers, eucalyptus plantations, and ponds surround the community. There is also a fish farm and it's considered a tourist area because of the hot springs. People mostly work in farming, craft making, weaving, and raising guinea pigs.

Norma is married and has five children ages: 16, 13, 10, 5 and 2. She used to show movies with a projector, but now has an Internet shop and a small grocery store. She wants to be independent, so she is saving money. At the moment, her husband is working away from home so she is asking for a loan of 200 soles to buy some computer accessories. She dreams of growing her business and of being near her husband.

Donata is a widow who has a 24 year old son. She started to sell fried fish out of necessity. At first she felt ashamed because since her husband died she had to learn how to do business and make her own way through life. Since she has been with FINCA, she has learned how to save and be a winner. She is asking for a loan of 400 soles to buy a stove so she can locate her business in the Palca plaza. She hopes for her children to be professionals.

Alejandra lives with her partner and has two children ages: 10 and 8. She is a baker and used to have a bakery in Lima. When she returned to her hometown of Palca, she had to reopen the shop her mother left her. Bit by bit she has been improving her shop. Her husband is disabled from an accident. She is asking for a loan of 600 to buy vegetables to improve her store. Her dream is to have a large bakery.
