A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase a trailer to transport pickles to the market.

Phin's story

Phin T. and her husband are 44 years old and live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with their 5 children. The couple works together, selling pickles at a local market. They earn a combined $7/day in this venture, and their children work at a garment factory and a small nearby restaurant--contributing regularly to the family income. Phin T. will use this loan to buy a trailer for her husband's motorbike. With the trailer, they will be able to transport larger amounts of their product more cheaply. In the future, Phin T. simply wants to sell more pickles, as she says, "there is a great demand for pickles and I want to satisfy my clients by making more pickles."
