A loan of $850 helped buy ingredients (potatoes, rice, sugar, vegetables, crates of chickens and eggs) for her meal preparation and kitchen utensils.

Ysabel's story

Ysabel belongs to the La Mujer Riojana Community Bank. She lives in San Martin. She is a 54 year old widow. She has seven children who are all independent and have their own families.

She wanted to generate her own income in her house. She got the idea to open a small business selling meals in the morning and “salchipollo” (a chicken and sausage dish) in the evening. Her business is in her own house, in a well equipped area. She has now gained a lot of experience in this type of business. She is well known and well regarded among her customers.

She continues with the same business, tending to her daily customers. She personally won her customers with her delicious seasoning and characteristic kindness.

With this loan for 2,500 PEN she will buy rice, sugar, sacks of potatoes, various vegetables, and crates of eggs and chickens. She will also buy some kitchen utensils to replace those that she has now. This way she will offer better service and attention to her customers.

Ysabel feels very self-confident, and she has the desire to get ahead and have a peaceful life. She is grateful to the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for contributing to making her dreams and goals come true.
