A loan helped to purchase corn, lime, and firewood for her business.

Maria Isabel's story

María is 57 years old and lives with her husband. She doesn’t have any children who depend on her. María lives in the community of San Lorenzo, a valley in the south of Honduras. She has her own house and has been working selling tortillas for the last 10 years. Her customers prefer her because she treats them well and serves them two times a day, in the morning and at night.

Doña María is a hardworking woman who wants to move ahead. She also sells packs of charamuscas (frozen fruit juices) and water, plus she has a candy store where she sells sweets and cookies.

María is requesting a loan to purchase corn, lime, wood, sweets, and cookies. With the support of the loan she will be able to meet her financial needs.

María is very happy to continue working with Prisma and Kiva. Her dream is to make improvements to her house and to have another business to generate income for her.
