A loan helped to buy more sugar, rice, flour, soap and the like to stock his store.

Delton's story

Delton is an ambitious, married man. For the past four years he has had a store where he sells sugar, bread, flour, soap and the like. His shop is located in a good area, and he sells mostly to locals.

Delton has taken out and successfully repaid three previous loans through Kiva's field partner SMEP Microfinance Bank. He has now applied for a 20,000 KES loan to buy more stock for his store. He will use his anticipated profits to buy additional groceries for his shop. His goal is to have a well-stocked business within five years.

Delton hopes that he will be able to educate his children to university level.
