Kan Taunt-2 (E) Village Group is located in Pakokku Township in Myanmar. In this village group, there are seven loan clients who are going to use Kiva’s loan to purchase quality fertilizer, more crop seeds, and other necessary farming inputs.

Pictured above are the seven loan customers named Htay, San, Moe, Mya, Shwe, Khin and Nweh. The featured borrower, Htay (with a blue blouse in the picture), is a 48 year old, married, mother of 3 children (two boys, one girl). Two of them are still in school. With her spouse, Htay earns a living by cultivating crops such as green gram, sesame and ground nuts while her eldest daughter takes care of the household chores.

Like other members, Htay plans to use her portion to purchase quality enriched crop seeds, composts and fertilizers. Good quality farming inputs are important to keep crops in healthy condition with the inconsistent weather. Htay can be identified as a ambitious mother who is always active for the improvement of her family’s living condition. Her ambitious goals are to be able to renovate her house and buy a car in the next five years.
