A loan of $600 helped to buy, fry, and re-sell fish.

Kayi's story

At 47 years of age, Mrs. Kayi G. is the mother of seven children who have been fatherless since 1998. Facing the needs of the household alone, she devoted herself to a small business of fried fish, which she buys on credit at the market to re-sell around the village which she crosses throughout the day. The meagre income barely suffices to cover the daily expenses of her family, who live in increasing misery. Having successfully gained many clients, Mrs. G. needs financial support to buy and fry fish herself to re-sell; this will increase her profit and hence her income. She is asking for a sum of $600 to provide herself with a can of oil, firewood, and a box of fresh fish in order to increase her income and alleviate the suffering of her family.
