Emily's story

People often ask Scott and Emily, "is owning a business together tough on your relationship?" The answer is a resounding no! Scott and Emily met while cooking together at a large restaurant in San Francisco and they have worked together ever since, eventually getting married, and now raising two girls.

Their passions lie in filling bellies, making people smile, and welcoming customers into their "second home". Among the most loved items at the restaurant are their homemade jams, granola, and chocolate chip cookies. Gift-packages abound during the holidays!

Scott, having moved here in 2002 fell in love with Oakland and Emily, having grown up in the Bay Area, love Oakland's diverse fabric of unique independently-owned businesses. In their spare hours, they work with the Oakland Indie Alliance- a coalition of restaurant and cafes.

Scott and Emily consider themselves lucky to have found a way to do what they love professionally, while having the flexibility to raise a family, maneuvering schedules to find time to spend life together.
