A loan of $750 helped purchase shrimp, clams, etc.

Esmelda Maria-'s story

Ms. Esmelda Maria Benavides is a 45-year-old woman who lives in the Villa Reconciliación neighborhood in the capital city of Managua. She is married and has two children ages 8 and 14. Her husband is a taxi cab driver, while she has been selling seafood for five years. She used to sell beverages, but she then started a seafood business because it is more lucrative. This is her ninth loan that she will invest in purchasing various types of seafood, such as: shrimp, clams, fish, and oysters to make her delicious seafood cocktails that many Nicaraguans love to purchase. Her plan is to improve her stall so that she can offer better customer service.
