Juana's story

Juana, 32, is a very happy and responsible woman. She lives alone in a rented house. What she wants most of all is a better quality of life. Every day, very early in the morning, she heads towards the Santa Maria market (a market in the city of Juliaca that sells fruits exclusively) She spends the whole day under the sun, waiting for her customers to buy the delicious fruit she sells. Because she is very happy, her little cart is very popular. At six in the evening, she heads home to prepare for the next day’s sales.

She has been in this business for eight years. What she likes the most is talking with her customers; that make selling more pleasant. On the other hand, the most difficult thing is having to stay at her stand all day without moving. Yet, she knows that all of her efforts are to improve her life and have a peaceful old age.

In the near future she would like to have a store where she could more comfortably sell her products and tend to her customers.

This is Juana’s fourth loan with MFP. She is prepared to put aside part of her daily earnings to repay the loan without problems. With the 1,000 PEN, she will buy more fruit to improve her stand in the hope of getting more customers.
