A loan helped to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other supplies for vegetable cultivation.

Sebati's story

Sebati lives in the Kalahandi district of Odish, India. She is a 44-year-old hardworking mother of three children. She is also a homemaker. Her husband's occupation is farming and he works hard to meet the family's needs.

Sebati's husband cultivates seasonal vegetables to sustain his family. Sebati also helps her husband with the cultivation during busy seasons. The crops they grow are sold in the market and this is the main source of income for the family. By doing this, they generate income that is mostly spent fulfilling household requirements. Sebati is expecting a good profit from the cultivation of the crops as there is a good demand for vegetables in all the seasons so she has applied for a loan of 20,000 Indian rupees from Milaap's partner, MSF.

The loan amount will be used to purchase necessary agricultural inputs like seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers for vegetable cultivation. The additional income will help her to save for their future and emergencies.

This loan is special because:

It serves women living in some of India's poorest and most remote areas.
