Milo Luis's story

Milo was born in Namaacha, a village near the frontier with Swazilandia, he is 24 years old, single, hard working and has no kids. He studied until the 10th grade in high school and had to interrupt his basic course to be a Police officer for the Republic of Mozambique (P.R.M.).

After his father died, who was the owner of a spot at the central market in Namaacha, Milo started his own business with the money from the indemnity he got from his father's death of 20.000mt. Years later he had to take the basic curse for (P.R.M.) which lasted for a year. After he finished his course he worked at the Interior Ministry as security guard with a monthly salary of 3.000mt. But because he was the only one working in the family they were not able to fulfill their needs and requested a loan to the bank proCredito (Micro-Finance Bank) in Maputo for 20.000mt that he paid at 2.816mt monthly during a year. Because of the high demand for his products he wasn't able to satisfy his client's needs in full. After talking with a friend he learned about Hluvuku and approached to request a loan for 10.000mt to increase his products, and he obtain a monthly income of 6.000mt and has the help of an employee who is paid 1.5000mt a month and is able to profit 2.000mt.
This is his first loan with Hluvuku and Kiva. The loan will be used to increase the volume of his products in order to fulfill his client's needs. He is convinced he will pay before the due date and request a new loan to start building a house.
