The "Reina de la Paz" group is a new group composed of fourteen people, of whom four are men and ten are women. All the members do different things to make a living, such as selling food, gas, or clothes, baking bread, providing public transport and educating children in schools. There is a high level of competition, but the members of the group know how to stay afloat with the sales of their products. However, they need economic support for the low periods during which they need to change products or increase their merchandise, and for this reason they require financing. Despite the fact that the group is newly formed, they have experience of support groups of this kind due to previous financing from instiutions similar to the Agrocapital foundation, who offer support to grow their businesses and improve the quality of life of their families.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
