Juana Teodora's story

Juana Teodora G. Hernández is 42 years old. She is married and has a 13-year-old son. Since she was very young, Juana Teodora has been hard working, and over the course of her life she has launched many businesses that weren't viable. Because of this, she decided to start a business selling fruits and vegetables, and even now it is bringing in money. At first she only sold lemons, but when she saw that her earnings were good, she decided to sell other types of fruit such as loquat, apples, bananas, watermelons, papayas, and other fruits known to the area. She has had this business for 8 years, and for much of that time she's been working with Kiva partner Fundacion Leon 2000, which has provided her many loans. Juana Teodora yearns deeply to establish a large store where she can sell her fruits and other products that people need so that her son can help her in his free time without having to leave the house. It is because of this that Juana Teodora needs and hopes for a loan that will allow her to reach one of her goals for the year, such as [setting up] the store.
