A loan of $500 helped purchase of coffee plants.

Lucia's story

Lucia is 39 and is a very hard-working woman. She lives with the father of her 5 children, who are her motivation for her daily work. She has worked in agriculture for 20 years, but for 8 years she has specialized in harvesting and selling coffee because it is more profitable than other crops. She attends to her coffee plants, weeding them and fertilizing them often. Now Lucia is waiting for the plants to mature, and when the harvest arrives, her husband and kids compete against each other to pick the beans. Lucia enjoys her work a lot, which is why she contemplates her harvests with patience. They let her earn money to pay for her children's education. She is convinced that her production will increase little by little and improve her quality of life. This is her fifth credit with Microfinanzas Prisma. During her four previous loans, she has been very punctual with her payments, which has earned her the confidence of the other members of her communal bank. They know her for her dynamism in the organization's activities. Lucia will invest her money in the purchase of young coffee plants to renew her next plantings in new fields.
