A loan of $400 helped to refund the "anticredico" (a system by which the tenant pays a fixed sum considered a loan to the property owner which they receive back in full when the rental period is over) on the house.

Francisco Pedro's story

Francisco has been in the tailoring business for fifteen years. He lives in Las Delicias zone in Villa Fatima. He is married and has five school aged children. He works full time as a tailor. His wife contributes to the support of the family by selling sweets and soft drinks on the Avenida Las Americas in Villa Fatima at the bus stop in the Caranavi area. She has her own stand there, and she sells every day. Francisco has his own house, which he and his wife built little by little. He primarily makes complete new suits. He asks his customers for the fabric, which they get according to their likes and preferences. Then, Franciso takes out his fashion magazine and has the customer look for the style they want. Once selected, he takes the customers measurements. He later starts with the tracing and sewing of the suit. Besides this type of work, he also fixes worn or torn suits. He does all types of mending. He does this in his shop – the tailor shop.
