Christina's story

Christina G. is a 37-year-old local restaurant operator who currently lives with her parent. She is single and has two children attending school. Christina has been in food provision for a year now. She understands customer ethics and is particularly aware of the importance of maintaining product quality and offering excellent service.

She prepares and sells local foods like fufu, banku, and other local dishes. Fufu is prepared from pounded cassava and plantain, and is taken with all kinds of soup. Banku is prepared from milled maize grainsm and it is taken with hot pepper or soup. With her tasty meals, Christina has attracted lots of customers in the area where she serves her food. As a result, it has become necessary to employ additional hands to assist her in food-delivery service.

She tells us that the prices of raw materials have gone up significantly and she needs the support of a loan to enable her to meet her production expenditure. With this loan, she wants to purchase more raw ingredients, such as bags of maize, baskets of cassava, plantain, meat, fish, and vegetables as well as firewood to prepare her meals. She would be grateful for such assistance.

She belongs to the village bank called "Emmanuel."
